Springdale Race Course
2016 Carolina Cup Marketing Campaign
How We Helped A Horse Track Find Its Stride
The Springdale Race Course is a premier steeplechase and training facility in Camden, South Carolina with a long and storied pedigree. Beloved playground of countless Hall of Fame jockeys, trainers and thoroughbreds, it plays host each year to two of the most important steeplechases on the racing calendar – the Carolina Cup in the spring and the Colonial Cup in the autumn.
Recently, Springdale’s CEO turned to queue in a bind. With a limited staff, their main concentration has always been on preparing the course for race day. Since marketing is a horse of different color, they desperately needed a team of experts to help them promote the upcoming Carolina and Colonial Cups.
So with little time to spare, queue quickly developed a cohesive branding strategy to expertly market the horse races and the facility. Our efforts included a public relations campaign as well as print, radio and television advertisements. We also carried the new look and messaging to signage and trade materials – all with the goal of branding the Carolina and Colonial Cups as premier southern outdoor sporting events.
And queue didn’t stop there. Before the dust had a chance to settle, queue set about creating additional marketing and promotional materials to help in gathering new sponsorships for future Carolina and Colonial Cups.
With queue’s help, the latest Carolina and Colonial Cups were an enormous success. And perhaps best of all, Springdale Race Course now has a marketing blueprint in place to help keep the storied event on track.
