Cutting her teeth in retail, Juana learned marketing and branding first-hand from the brand giant of specialty retail — Neiman Marcus. After a lengthy career as Marketing and Public Relations Director there, she worked with other industry giants such as Aetna and General Electric, where she became a certified Six Sigma Black Belt. For the last 25+ years, she’s been making things happen on the agency side with an attention to detail and dedication to strategy that keeps everyone on their toes.

Juana is an active Board Member and Past President for the Virginia Society of Healthcare Marketing and Public Relations, past President of AAF of the Midlands, past President of the PRSA in Washington, DC, former Board Member of NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners). Juana is the current Board Member for the South Carolina Free Clinics Association and is active in a number of other organizations.

An almost North Carolina native, she grew up in Tarboro and studied at East Carolina University. Her memories of fun times at Emerald Isle and the Atlantic Beach area still keep her close to the water…just in South Carolina these days.

Account & Public Relations Director

Suzanne has spent 25+ years (she won’t tell us exactly how many) in the marketing field, previously serving as Marketing Director for a Florida Real Estate developer as well as for two North Carolina Hospitals. We’re not 100% clear on how she went from marketing homes, condominiums and resort properties to hospitals and healthcare, but she did it!

Since coming to the agency side, she’s worked with a diverse group of clients in a variety of fields. She loves the beach, snow skiing, working out (actually she doesn’t love it, but she does it) and jogging (ditto). Originally from NY, NJ and FL, she ‘called the hogs‘ at the University of Arkansas during her college years. She’s lived in NC for the past 20+ years and loves it!

Media Director

Jamie has worked in this crazy industry for the past 25+ years. She’s sold newspaper ads, produced high-quality (ha-ha) cable TV commercials, helped sell carpet cleaners and negotiated advertising schedules for the likes of BB&T, College Foundation of NC, Embassy Suites, Golden Corral and Duke Heart to name a few.

Her specialty is looking at the big picture and figuring out how all the pieces fit together. Jamie is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University (Go Rams!) She loves reading, long walks on the beach, romantic candle light dinners, blah, blah, blah…she also loves hanging out with her two sons and watching them grow into the kind of young men that would make any momma proud!

Creative Director

With more than 15 years of award winning creative experience, Shay knows advertising and design inside and out. Throughout her career, she has worked at several agencies with clients both large and small, ranging from local community hospitals to prestigious universities. Shay’s creative skills include design, photography, illustration and interactive. Her expertise in concept and design for print, collateral, broadcast and interactive have helped numerous clients including The Chapel Hill Visitors Bureau, the town of Dunn, Rice University, Volvo Trucks of North America, Signature Healthcare, First Night Raleigh, Rocky Top Hospitality, UNC Healthcare, Montgomery County United Way, Duke Nicholas School of the Environment, Builders Mutual Insurance Company and Cotton, Inc.

A connoisseur of the written word, Hal brings nearly fifteen years of copywriting experience to the team. He understands that in a crowded marketplace, the simplest message wins, and his copywriting reflects this philosophy. He’s worked with clients small and large, including Subway, Lockheed Martin, American Express, Duke University and Anderson Homes.

When he’s not pushing the pencil, Hal enjoys the Veranda roast from Starbucks, complaining about NC State athletics, and handcrafting wine racks and bookshelves from reclaimed driftwood.

Jenny has created advertising, education and outreach materials for a wide variety of healthcare organizations including hospitals, medical practices, non-profit health organizations, state departments of health, and the CDC. She began her career in television and ran the in-house advertising and P.R. team for a top NBC affiliate. She then pursued a career as an independent writer and producer. She has field produced national news coverage, written two Food Network series, and won Emmys for her work in children’s television. She is a frequent magazine contributor and was for eight years, editor of the award-winning women’s magazine skirt!

Jenny earned her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a masters in creative writing from the University of South Carolina.

Junior Designer

With more than eight years of design experience, Nicole started her career with textile giant Cotton, Inc., where she developed knit and digital fabric prints alongside their product development team. It was there she developed a passion for graphic design and decided to switch gears in her career path. Since then she has worked for custom photo-to-canvas giant Canvas on Demand and local PICA award winning digital printer DocuSource of NC. Nicole’s design skills have afforded her the opportunity to design for clients small and large, including Blue Cross & Blue Shield of NC, the American Heart Association, and the City of Durham.

In Nicole’s free time, she enjoys spending time at the lake with her boys (her husband and son), tackling home DIY projects, and exploring new eateries (where she often – ok, always, eats off of her husband’s plate).

Web Designer & Social Media Manager

Combining his marketing knowledge and creativity with his passion for writing and communicating, Aaron began working on several social media marketing campaigns and taking on freelance work for clients in a variety of industries. He has excelled in transforming the social media presence and overall digital marketing strategy for many types of organizations ranging from retail to non-profits to food and beverage.

When he is not working on social media or marketing projects, Aaron enjoys going to country music concerts, playing guitar, traveling, and watching Virginia Tech football (GO HOKIES!).
